HOW HAS RIDR HELPED?

This is one of the reasons why we created the RIDR Light, to help with the issue of cars passing by too close. I have obviously tested the light numerous times and it makes a huge difference. I feel safer and more comfortable whilst using my light. Not only do I FEEL safer, I AM safer, as more drivers are able to spot me in the dark.

Two main improvements! The laser lights and the USB recharging. I put the light on the side of my bike, the left side where the cars pass. That way all the lasers are on the left side of my bike, and with 4 lasers on the side the cars clearly see that i want more room. IT'S AWESOME and I haven’t seen anyone do it yet. Just a tip but you should really put that on your website too (@RIDR guys).

HOW HAS RIDR HELPED?

Riding a bike feels like freedom, sun or rain, there is always some dopamines at the end of it. It’s the cars that make you not take your bike, so make sure you are as visible as possible, problem solved. RIDR didn’t reinvent the wheel (or the light for that matter). RIDR just added an obvious benefit to an existing solution. With one stone we now tackle two problems. Something we hope other light manufactures will incorporate in their designs.

If we look at the statistics, we notice that the traditional bike lights do way too little for side and ground visibility. Although a fluorescent vest is the absolute best solution, RIDR Lights offer something in between.

I already had bike lights so in that aspect it’s not that big of a difference. The RIDR Lights are nice because they have 5 LED lights in a straight line. Makes for a big strip on the rear which is quite visible. Battery is good enough, I can last several days without charging because I don’t have to ride that far.

The biggest difference for me is the Laser Lights. They really stand out and it’s something I haven’t seen anyone use before.

HOW HAS RIDR HELPED?

One of the things I most love about my light is that it has the additional laser function. When I turn this on it illuminates the space around my bike with two laser beams and helps ensure cars/cyclists don’t get too close. I have a basket behind my seat and I was concerned the light wouldn’t attach well to it but it works like a breeze and stays mounted even when I’m cycling on bumpy roads–we’ve got a lot of those in East London!

Another feature that is a lifesaver is that its rechargeable instead of battery-powered. I had run out of juice of my previous light and because I’m lazy I had neglected to replace the batteries and was cycling in the evenings without a light. The fact that I can just plug the RIDR light into charge bypasses my laziness and helps me be a safer and more considerate cyclist.

There was also a moment when it was late at night and was cycling home without a light (irresponsible, I know!). A car pulled up next to me at a red light and a man started leering and shouting at me and asking me why I didn’t have a light. The streets were pretty desolate and I was by myself. I realised at that moment I had put myself in harm’s way for something as silly as not having the right level of visibility. That’s the same night I bought these lights!
